why i can't help the feeling of something is biased here about the issue..
got to ask some of the PS3 fans here..

Automatic Disc Loading Dock/Tray or Manual Top Loading Disc?
Is it really that a BIG issue? Really? (A PS3 Slim vs PS3 SuperSlim comparison)

Pros and Cons please... Thanks!

For me parang better ver ang SSlim. Less moving parts (no more auto load tray) means the a unit will last longer.

In the end PS3 pa rin yan di ba?

I know, no one can please everybody.. but man, what kind of a hype was build when someone says SuperSlim sucks and Slim is better?
I read somewhere that the Manual Tray gave consumer a benefit because it saves them hassle of getting the disc stuck inside the console. Plus the easy access to the HDD is now more convenient than before.

Was there any chance that PS3 disc really do get stuck inside the console? Or some old users are just doing self gratification by saying Slim is better tha Super Slim.

Slim o SuperSlim? San ba mas dapat maging happy at sulit ang pera at less regret? Sa Slim o SuperSlim.

Sony Philippines is still offering PS3 Slims but with a hefty price compared to units from the stores what they called "Grey Market" (I-Tech, DataBlitz, etc). Pa-X-Mas offering pa daw nila yung SRP nila..

Pa-X-Mas? Talagang ha? Ang mahal pa rin eh. 16k sa 160GB Unit only while grey market 320GB 13k lang

People who worry about getting disks stuck inside the ps3 slim dont take enough time to read their friggin owners manuals or research online. In case the disk ejection/intake mechanism fails - there is a way tomanually eject disks inside consoles.

Slim: http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/ ... -p/5902320

Fat: im not sure about this.

Furthermore,I hate the way sony phils calls datablitz or itech as gray market. If it werent for these establishments paving the way for their consoles, they wouldnt even have an exisiting market here in the phils. The only thing gray in my opinion are the minds of those morons in sony who would label these establishments as such.

I was at iTech the other day to buy a game and asked how much the PS3 slim is now that the super slim is out. The 320GB was still going for 12k while the 160GB was more expensive at around 16K! I asked why, and he said the latter has Sony Phils warranty while the former only has services warranty.

And with regard to your point on direct selling vs retailing - mas mura ang direct selling kasi their customers buy in bulk. Tama ba?

I own a PS3 Slim (the 2nd generation not the super slim) and one of my worries before is what if the drive tray got broken?

As for gray market units eh talagang ganun. They are not illegal here afaik probably sa ibang countries meron silang law addressing gray market. The term gray market itself will define cheap prices because... they are gray market: hindi sila dumaan sa official channels. But you know what? Speaking of gray market, I heard from a staff of Sony Philippines (one of their boutique stores in Festival mall), he mentioned to me before that their number one customer is Datablitz LOLOLOL. I don't know if that's true. Hehehehe.

Sony Philippines by the looks and feel of their business model here is not "factory sourced". They are just mere official distributors of the brand Sony.

In case you are a fan of watches, they are more of an "Official Boutique" or an "Authorized Dealer". If you're getting let say a Seiko watch in an AD, the price of the Seiko watch is 1.5 to 2x higher compared to a gray market watch shop. ;-)

Afaik, gray market is not a derogatory word. DB and ITECh are being called such (not just by Sony or MS. everybody calls them that) because they are not official distributors of MS' XBox and Sony's Playstation products.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_market

A grey market or gray market, also known as parallel market,[1] is the trade of a commodity through distribution channels which, while legal, are unofficial, unauthorized, or unintended by the original manufacturer. The term gray economy, however, refers to workers being paid under the table, without paying income taxes or contributing to such public services as Social Security and Medicare.[2] It is sometimes referred to as the underground economy or "hidden economy."

Grey-market goods refer to "legal goods" which are sold outside normal distribution channels by companies which may have no relationship with the producer of the goods. Frequently this form of parallel import occurs when the price of an item is significantly higher in one country than another. This situation commonly occurs with electronic equipment such as cameras. Entrepreneurs buy the product where it is available cheaply, often at retail but sometimes at wholesale, and import it legally to the target market.

Lol! I just got educated there! Thanks schoolmate! I dunno... Gray market just sounds so.... Not right. Lol!

Still, you gotta admit that the way most first party establishments/companies package the term grey market just makes it sound so negative.
